Take it from App State senior Nicole Tran, who recently traveled to Kathmandu and the Khumbu region of Nepal to complete the Mount Everest Base Camp Trek alongside App State and Tribhuvan University students, as well as App State professors — including Dr. Baker Perry, who has been documenting the trip with Campbell Scientific. Students and alumni of App State’s College of Arts and Sciences and the geological and environmental sciences department will be excited to see Dr. Liutkus-Pierce and her research featured in a new documentary, “Footsteps: A Journey to the Engare Sero Footprints,” Take a walk through history and watch as Dr. Liutkus-Pierce and her team meticulously uncover, study and use three-dimensional mapping to identify prehistoric hom*o sapiens footprints in northern Tanzania.
