The Chronicles of the Kingdom of Sazir Razes
This is the Chronicles of the Kingdom of Sazir Razes from the creation of the world to the beginning of the year 1110, written by the dwarf Engraver Mistem Craftedoil.
I learned much about the history of our kingdom. I engraved many events on the walls of many buildings, especially temples, under the instruction of priests, nobles and other educated dwarves. I have learned from the writings of old and the records left behind by previous rulers and nobles.
With the help of Ulmush, I hope I will manage to gather all this knowledge about our kingdom in a single place, so that the whole history will not be forgotten.
Reign of King Ingiz Handledfountains
When the gods were done creating the world which today we call "Teyo Sinaru", they also began creating the beings which would dominate the world and put it under their dominion.
The gods decided to forge the dwarves of the Sazir Razes in the middle of the Fatal Tooth, the chain of mountains which stretches itself almost from one edge of the world to the other. The dwarves were situated to the west of the Cradled Jungles, a large valley placed right in the middle of the Fatal Tooth.
These first dwarves were the only ones in history who had no parents and were never children. The last couple hundred years saw debates among dwarf scholars on whether these first dwarves had navels.
What was certain is that the most powerful among them was Ingiz Handledfountains, the first king of the Bridge of Hair.
King Ingiz founded the fortress capital Ransackedlancers right on the spot where the gods created him and his subjects. Then a celebration was held with poetry to mark the occasion.
In the same year the mayor Sarvesh Griptower, loyal subject of Ingiz, founded the hillocks Ragspins.
Later in the years 4, 5 and 6 the three hillocks of Cloistergate, Spearbraid and Systemquake were founded.
In the 9th month of the 8th year, the reign of King Ingiz was brought to an end. The roc Righeousyells attacked Ransackedlancers and killed 13 dwarves, among them the king and his wife. The dwarf king was the only one who tried fighting the roc. King Ingiz charged at Righteousyells with his sword but he was still defeated.
Reign of Queen Udil Mutehelm
King Ingiz's son was still a baby when his father was killed and crowning a baby wouldn't have been appropiate. A dwarven woman by the name of Udil was appointed as regent, but on the very first day of the year 9 she crowned herself as queen of the Bridge of Hair. Nobody seemed to mind, and she was soon accepted by all her subjects.
Queen Udil appointed the dwarf Moldath Divednets as general. He made several travels to the depths of the world in the following years and tamed a few rutherers. Moldath used these beasts in his battles later.
In the year 18 the fortress of Hollowdiamonds was founded by the mayor Zefon Cityfriend. Hollowdiamonds was connected to Ransackedlancers thorugh an underground tunnel.
In the year 21 the elven realm of Goldenrod Leaf was rallying an army to attack Sazir Razes. General Moldath's spies warned him of this and Moldath gathered his army and met the elven enemy on the edge of the Cradled Jungles. Moldath defeated the elves and he personally slew an elven queen during the battle. The short war ended soon afterwards.
In the following years many settlements were founded: the hillocks Craftsounds and Paintedsystems in 34 and 38, the mountain halls Cityfriends in 36 and the fortress Wheeledburns in 41.
In the year 39 the Celebration of Slings was held for the first time in Ransackedlancers. The capital has been hosting this celebration yearly in the late spring-to-early summer ever since.
In the first month of 43 the elves of Goldenrod Leaf gathered an army again and marched on the Bridge of Hair. General Moldath met them in the Jungle with his army and defeated them for a second time.
On the third month of the same year, a forgotten beast by the name of Togal Scarredscrapes massacred 26 dwarves in Hollowdiamonds. Togal destroyed the fortress and it's ruins were turned into it's lair ever since.
The following years weren't easy for the many other settlements either. Cityfriends, Spearbraid and Circlestaves were crushed by the powerful creatures plaguing the land. Each of them could only be resettled years after their destruction. Many new hillocks were formed as well.
Meanwhile, the queen spent her reign marrying and divorcing several dwarven men, having 8 children with some of them. Three of her children were killed by merciless powerful beasts before they could become of age.
In the year 58 the Scholarly Vault was built in the capital. This library would attract a lot of scholars over the centuries, mainly elves with vast knowledge and experience.
In the year 64 Goldenrod Leaf went to war with Sazir Razes again. This time they attacked the Craftsounds but Moldath Divednets defeated them again. The son of Queen Udil, Prince Udib fought in this battle as a crossbowman.
In the year 65, a hydra by the name of Akest attacked the capital. Both General Moldath and Queen Udil tried confronting Akest, but they were killed alongside several of their own men. The hydra's rampage was ended when a rutherer slew Akest. In total 30 dwarves and 7 visitors were massacred that day.
Queen Udil was the last dwarf who saw the beginning of the world and ruled Sazir Rares. After her death she was succeeded by her son Udib Cloudyshot, who was 48 years old at the time.
