TSR Honda France, Yoshimura SERT Motul, BMW Motorrad World Endurance Team, Honda Viltaïs Racing and Kawsaki Webike Trickstar as five different motorcycle manufacturers featured in the top six.Meanwhile, Honda No Limits is on the provisional Superstock pole, the Dunlop-supplied category counting for the FIM Endurance World Cup.Following his sub-lap record performance in Free Practice this morning, Marvin Fritz was quickest of all once again in First Qualifying, which was split into three colour-coded rider groups (Blue, Yellow and Red) with each group getting 20 minutes of running on the 6.985-kilometre legendary Belgian track. But with the average time of the fastest two riders from each team after Second Qualifying taken into account, it won’t be until approximately 18h20 this evening when the provisional starting grid for Saturday’s race will become clear.Niccolò Canepa was the fastest Blue group rider for Yamalube YART Yamaha EWC Official Team, going 0.238s quicker than Josh Hook (F.C.C. TSR Honda France) in a time of 2m18.938s. Canepa had topped the order for much of the session before slipping behind Hook in the closing stages, only to hit back in the final minutes to go quickest. Gregg Black was third fastest for Yoshimura SERT Motul with a 2m19.360s effort. Florian Alt posted a 2m20.099s best for Honda Viltaïs Racing with Markus Reiterberger completing the top five for BMW Motorrad World Endurance Team. However, the German rider’s session was interrupted when he was forced to push the #37 machine at Turn 3 due to an issue. We feel good on the bike and it’s very good because eight hours will be tough for sure. But I was able to make a good lap time in the morning now and set a new lap record so we are quite happy and feeling good and now we can prepare for the qualifying.”F.C.C. TSR Honda France’s 2m19.243s effort was enough for the second quickest time as Belgium-based BMW Motorrad World Endurance Team completed the two-hour session, held in warm and dry conditions, with a time of 2m19.643s.In the battle for supremacy in the Dunlop-supplied FIM Endurance World Cup for Superstock machinery, Japanese BMW-powered outfit Team Étoile set the pace with a time of 2m22.080 followed by Tecmas MRP BMW Racing Team and Honda-equipped TRT27 AZ Moto.Meanwhile, in the overall Free Practice ranking, 24 Heures Motos winner Yoshimura SERT Motul was fourth quickest followed by Honda Viltaïs Racing, the top EWC independent team in 2023, and the Belgian KM99 outfit.
