About the Indiana Lottery

Voters approved the Indiana Lottery (AKA the Hoosier Lottery) in 1988. One year later, scratch-off games went on sale.

In 1989, the Hoosier Millionaire debuted on television and ran through 2005. Indiana joined Lotto America (now Powerball) in 1990, and started selling Mega Millions tickets in 2010.

Proceeds from the Indiana Lottery go toward pensions for the state's firefighters and the police force, as well as infrastructure and teachers' retirements.
