I feel like I have to say this every week: Stop sliding into my DM's with a "Hey". This is not a dating app. Say what you want. Preferably a photoshoot: https://www.nadiameli.com/

Nice to know I’m not the only one who finds those messages annoying. Even on dating site I’d find it annoying. I mean what is one meant to say in return “Hey”? When does the conversation actually start?

Its a shame. I thought we, as a human species, have evolved from that, especially that this is the least place you wanna “hey” someone 🥴

"A jack of all trades is a master of none"- But oftentimes better than a master of one. Did you know this was the full quote? We are served only the first half of this famous sentence - I assume some entrepreneur bro botched it for marketing purposes. Niche down as to not confuse people! A niche is the key to success! There is a thing called "Multipotentialite" and I am sorry bro, some of us can't be one-dimensional, not even on the internet. Watch this:https://lnkd.in/e4NucGb2In fact, most Creatives I know have more than one avenue of expression, more than one 'style'. I am a photographer of people and I also write a successful newsletter on Substack that goes out to thousands of people every week. I explore and follow ideas and I am not scared of mixing them together online. I am not scared of 'confusing' people. If you are confused by humanity, boo, that's not my problem. You do not have to niche down if it feels wrong to you. After all, we never thought we'd buy phones from a computer company, did we? Or that a record company would fly planes and cruise ships. Yet here we are. You are a real human being. Not just a 'brand'. And even a brand can be an umbrella for many things. I wish we could drastically re-think marketing. I say, show your full range online, don't be scared to scare people with your humanity. Products are one-dimensional. Humans are not. You don't have to have a niche and you also don't have to pursue all of your interests at the same time (who the f*ck can?). If expressing them all is working for you, keep doing you. Better than a master of one, right?

Ciao from Sicily! 🇮🇹Last week I had the joy of photographing artist Filippo Grillo in his workshop and it's the thing I love the most:people in their environment. Unposed. Unforced. Just flowing with whatever happens. Portraits that feel so truly alive. If you'd like to experience this way of being witnessed, go this way:https://lnkd.in/e3h7gNhz
